Yawn
Not sure why I'm up at 2.30am but I am so I might as well make the most of it. Actually I'm looking up info for my Human Rights project on Aung San Suu Kyi who has been under house arrest in Burma for a fair old while. There's so much information about her on this world wide web and it's a lot to take in. Basically for my project I have to write a 2000 word features article on a Human Rights issue and I decided to choose her. The only problem I have is that I need to find an angle or a hook to make it worth writing about. Not that she's not interesting enough to write about but I've been going through reems of articles on Lexus Nexus and reporters seem to tell the same story and I don't want to do that. I want to tell a different story that people wanna hear, not regurgitate facts and figures and history as that's unoriginal and frankly been overdone. I want to tell people what it feels like to be under house arrest and get her perspective on it, not sure how but something a little bit different. So I'm off to the Burma Campaign UK people in Old Street with my partner on friday to see if they can give me some info on her and her current situation and maybe get an interview with the people there who are campaigning for her freedom. That's if they're willing of course. What a stress!!

Tense football game with Chelsea Vs Spurs. I was certainly not happy with the result and am anxious about the replay at White Hart Lane, but we'll see.

My recommendation of the week is to go see The Science of Sleep which is directed by Michel Gondry. A truely remarkable film which is surreal and deeply touching simultaneously. It's like a quirky love-story that goes on in your head. The interplay of the dream world and reality was superbly done. I saw it at the Barbican with my friend Ro, and I had never been to the Barbican but my God was it vast and quite dauntingly scary. I defintely have to go back to explore it further!

Right back to the net...
